Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and wellbeing to the recipient. It is a specific type of healing modality using the laying on of the hands, which allows the energy flow from the limitless Source to the patient, with the practitioner being the spiritual energy conduit. This Reiki Healing Energy
flow is extremely powerful, yet gentle, and can be channeled very easily to the patient, as well as to you, merely by placing the intention into the Universe. The patient must, however, be sincere about this intention and the desired effect, because when combined with the Source and the practitioner’s expertise, a thorough cleansing of their emotional and spiritual consciousness takes place.
It is truly a system of attaining and promoting wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit, and can be combined with Yoga, Color Therapy, Crystal Therapy, and Chakra Balancing.
POTENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS OF REIKI HEALING TREATMENTS
When the flow of our Source energy, that energy within us all, is disrupted, weakened or blocked, health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk, toxicity, nutritional depletion, destructive lifestyle and relationships, neglect of oneself and lack of love for oneself or others, from emotions that are not expressed in a healthy way.
Reiki is excellent for healing any physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues of any kind. The results are astounding. Some of its benefits include:
When we are relaxed and stress-free, we are able to restore our natural ability to heal. Reiki reduces that stress, thereby aiding not only in physical wellness but spiritual as well. It also is quite effective in treating depression and anxiety. Reiki can be used anywhere and anytime, even on oneself, and will benefit plants and animals. I used it on our Dachshund’s mouth area for a number of days when his teeth were in very bad condition, and it clearly helped relieve his pain until our Vet appointment.
ABOUT THE USUI SYSTEM OF REIKI HEALING
This natural healing modality originated in Tibet. The name "Reiki" (rey-key) comes from the technique as re-discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist in the early 20th century.
"Re" means "Universal" and it is a general term for Spirit, which serves as the channel for "Life Force Energy" (some call it God, Buddha, Chi, Qi, Prana, or Love Energy). It relates to the superior, all-encompassing cosmic energy from which all other minor energies in the Universe draw their power.
Everything in the Universe is made up of energy particulates which form the Omniscient, All-Knowing Blueprint for Creation. The Vital Living Energy Force comes in different manifestations of energy, one of these being the frequencies in which Reiki was born.
The Usui System of Natural Healing teaches us also that inviting happiness into one's life can be achieved by working with the Five Reiki Ideals and the three degrees of Attunements. The Five Reiki Ideals help us realize that improving oneself is an essential part of Reiki healing.
HOW REIKI HEALING ENERGY WORKS
The body is more than just a collection of functioning parts. Since everything generates a frequency, the body and its organs have their own energy field which is continually changing. All diseases are rooted in this energy system. If our "life force" is low or blocked, we are more likely to get sick. But if it is high and flowing freely, we can maintain our health and wellbeing.
Reiki Energy provides the means to balance the human energy fields, or auras, and energy centers, or chakras, to create the conditions necessary for the body’s immune system to function properly.
The Reiki Healing practitioner assists the patient in healing themselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically by a simple laying on of hands. Using ancient healing symbols, the practitioner channels the Universal Life Force energy, allowing it to flow where is needed to bring the energy centers into alignment.
The Reiki Healing practitioner must be a clear vessel through which the healing energy flows. He or she plays an instrumental part in the healing process, but ultimately it is up to the patient to manifest harmony and balance in their own life.
The practitioner generally begins with soothing Reiki music, designed to give a signal telling the practitioner when to change hand positions. The individual calls on their spirit guides and begins drawing the Dai Ko Mio, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Sei He Ki and Cho Ku Rei symbols over the client, three times for each symbol. Symbols are not required during this session, however. Some practitioners choose not to use them at all. The practitioner begins channeling energy through their hands the patient’s head, front of the body, back, knees and feet, spending approximately 3-5 minutes on each area of the body, or using intuition, moves the hands when he or she feels ready. The hands are cupped slightly, fingers held together, using a light touch. This enables the energy to flow right to the source of the problem and not just to the manifesting symptom. Reiki energy goes to wherever the recipient needs it most. The patient ideally should be lying down.
